Expertise · Performance

Business value, FinOps and operational performance.

Make the value, cost and operating trade-offs visible. An investment has to show its value, and the systems behind it have to hold their cost, speed and reliability. We frame the expected value, set the indicators and baseline, track the benefits and make the value and cost trade-offs explicit.

Performance in short

Performance expertise at ARCHITEKT covers business value, FinOps, Perf4Ops and GreenOps. We frame the value an initiative should create, agree indicators and a baseline, track the benefits, and examine cost, speed and reliability in the same view. GreenOps is in scope, but no emissions case is published yet.

Specialties

Business Value

Frame the value an initiative is expected to create, agree the indicators and the baseline before the work starts, and track the benefits as it lands. Value and cost sit in the same view, so the decision to continue, change or stop rests on facts.

FinOps

Understand what drives cost, how it relates to usage and who can act on it. Use that view to prioritise changes and measure their effect on operating economics.

  • Cloud cost engineering and FinOps
  • Unit economics and cost allocation
  • Commitment strategy and rightsizing
  • Cost governance and showback

Perf4Ops

Examine latency, reliability and capacity under the relevant load. Connect system measures to the experience and operational demands they must support.

  • Reliability engineering and availability targets
  • Application and platform performance
  • Capacity and scalability planning
  • Observability and incident response

GreenOps

Consider energy and emissions alongside cost and performance where the measurement basis supports it. GreenOps is part of our scope; we do not currently cite a published emissions case.

With partner specialists: Sustainable IT and GreenOps; Carbon measurement and reporting; and Energy-aware architecture and placement.

When the destination is a measured effect on business performance across several decisions, From Intelligence to Performance owns it. This expertise supplies the value framing, benefits tracking and cost discipline applied within it.

Questions

What does business value realisation involve?
The value and its indicators are agreed before the work starts, and a baseline is measured. Benefits are then tracked as the work lands, and the trade-off between value and cost stays visible to the people who fund it, so they can continue, change or stop.
Is this a cost-cutting exercise?
No. Cost is examined against the value the business expects, alongside response time, reliability and the workload it must support. Where a cost is justified by that value or that workload, we say so.
Do you have a published GreenOps case?
No. GreenOps is part of our scope and is delivered with partner specialists. We do not currently cite a published emissions case.
