Engagement models in short
You can work with ARCHITEKT through an interim C-level seat, full time or fractional, an Advisory offer, a programme, an expertise or Venture Building. Seats and Venture Building are billed as a monthly retainer, Advisory as a fixed fee, programmes phase by phase, and an expertise at a fixed price, as a retainer or as a recruitment fee.
Start from the situation
One bounded mandate = one unit offer. A whole estate to move = a programme.
Every engagement defines what ARCHITEKT holds, what changes before exit and who owns the result afterwards.
Model by model
Interim seat, full time
- What you buy. A named operator takes the seat until the function can hold without them.
- When it fits. A C-level seat is vacant and the transition cannot wait for a permanent hire.
- How it is billed. A monthly retainer, under a mandate with a defined scope and an exit condition.
- How it ends. We leave when the function can run without us: an identified permanent owner, a roadmap they hold, and a team that no longer routes through the interim.
Fractional seat
- What you buy. The same seat and mandate, held part time: a cadence of the interim offer, not a separate offer.
- When it fits. The function exists but lacks senior leadership, the volume does not justify a full-time role, and there is a team to lead.
- How it is billed. A monthly retainer on the time contracted, set with you to fit the context.
- How it ends. Continuing at the end of each term is an explicit decision, never a tacit renewal.
Advisory
- What you buy. You buy a decision that can survive execution.
- When it fits. A decision must be examined before capital, leadership or a roadmap is committed.
- How it is billed. A fixed fee.
- How it ends. A deliverable that stands on its own or, for Governance & Arbitration, a decision forum that runs without ARCHITEKT.
Programme
- What you buy. You buy a destination, reached, with one operator accountable from first decision to handover.
- When it fits. The change crosses teams, suppliers and stages, and no single bounded mandate can carry it to its destination.
- How it is billed. A framework contract, then a price per phase: each phase is a whole offer, billed its own way, and a Build Direction is a fixed fee per wave. Handover is included.
- How it ends. Delivery is incomplete until ownership has moved, and you can stop at each decision gate with a complete deliverable.
Expertise
- What you buy. You buy a capability, applied.
- When it fits. The destination and the sequence are decided and held by your team, and a capability is missing.
- How it is billed. The way you buy it sets the billing:
- Fixed price: a defined piece of work with written acceptance criteria. It is billed at a price agreed before the start.
- Time and materials: capacity working against the backlog you prioritise. It is billed as a retainer on the capacity contracted.
- Short placement: a specialist contribution for a bounded need. It is billed at a fixed price or as a retainer.
- Long placement: capability required over several quarters. It is billed as a monthly retainer.
- Permanent placement: recruitment into your organisation, with ARCHITEKT leading the search. It is billed as a recruitment fee.
- Named seat: capability within an agreed executive mandate. It is billed like an interim seat.
- How it ends. The capability stays with your organisation.
Venture Building
- What you buy. A venture standing upright: proposition, product, team, governance and ownership.
- When it fits. A new activity has to exist, not merely be designed, and its future leader is identified.
- How it is billed. A monthly retainer, with no equity. The CEO seat stays with you throughout. ARCHITEKT Venturing, the company's venture activity, carries the work.
- How it ends. The venture is handed over standing: owned by the client, run by its own team, with the operator seat vacated on an agreed date.
Comparison
| Model | What you buy | Billing | How it ends |
|---|---|---|---|
| Interim seat, full time | An executive who holds the seat | Monthly retainer | A permanent owner holds the function |
| Fractional seat | The same seat, held part time | Monthly retainer on the contracted time | An explicit decision at each term |
| Advisory | A decision that can survive execution | Fixed fee | A result your leaders hold alone |
| Programme | A destination, reached | Framework contract, priced phase by phase | Ownership moved to your team |
| Expertise | A capability, applied | Fixed price, monthly retainer or recruitment fee | The capability stays in your organisation |
| Venture Building | A venture standing upright | Monthly retainer, no equity | Handed over, the operator seat vacated |
What is never sold
We place people, we staff teams, and we take the seat ourselves. What we never sell is headcount against an unframed problem, or a report no one carries.
Contract
ARCHITEKT contracts directly.
No price is published: the proposal states the amount for a named scope.
Questions
- Do you publish day rates?
- No. No rate or price is published on this site. The proposal states the amount for a named scope, once the situation, the model and the operator are known: a fixed fee for an Advisory offer, a monthly retainer for a seat, a price per programme phase.
- What is the difference between interim and fractional?
- Both are the same interim offer under the same mandate. A full seat holds a function that has no owner and decisions that cannot wait. A fractional seat is held part time, when the function exists but lacks senior leadership and the volume does not justify full time.
- Can the cadence of a seat change?
- A full seat can continue as a fractional seat once the function holds and the team decides without routing through the interim. Any change of cadence is a new decision with its own terms, taken at the end of a term, never a drift or a tacit extension.
- Do you take equity?
- No. ARCHITEKT takes no equity in any engagement, Venture Building included: no shares, no warrants, no convertible, and no reduced price against a stake. Venture Building is billed as a monthly retainer, and the venture and its CEO seat stay with the client.
- Can one engagement lead to another?
- Yes, but never automatically. A diligence can open a programme or a seat, an assessment can open any model, and a seat can open a programme. Each next step is a separate engagement, decided on its own merits; a due diligence pre-sells nothing.
- Where do you work?
- Worldwide, on site or remote. Every operator works in English and French. The proposal states how much of the engagement is held on site and how much remotely, set with you before the work starts, in whichever country the work takes the operator.
